It’s the end of October, and I really like this time. The summer season is over, our modest harvest has been put away. Now you can admire the coming golden autumn as much as you want. At my dacha, under my window, there are two luxurious larches that have taken on a golden attire, and their branches are knocking on the window.

I can’t take my eyes off Khamar-Daban, a mountain range stretching along the Selenga for hundreds of kilometers. In the mornings, fog rises over the river and the peaks of the ridge, as if islands, float in the ocean. On the bushes in the garden you can still see yellow sea buckthorn berries that the birds did not have time to peck, and the ruby bunches of rowan are still burning brightly. This wonderful picture endlessly pleases the soul.

Main part

But something is clearly missing in this picture… Only later did I manage to understand: the point here is that there are too few among us who want to be closer to nature and love nature, and this is a big mistake. In the meantime, we have a consumerist attitude towards nature, I see this right from the windows of my apartment overlooking the Trans-Siberian Railway. Trains with timber are constantly moving here.

Here is what G. Shatalova, a candidate of medical sciences and a well-known advocate of healthy nature, says about this: “Nature is not a storehouse from which you can take and take, as we do, without worrying at all about the future…” (G. S. Shatalova.

“Philosophy of Health”). Therefore, it was pleasant to learn about the initiative of the Forestry Agency to introduce school forestries in the republic. And this initiative was highly appreciated at the Russian level. Indeed, raising a schoolchild is probably more successful than raising an adult.

And one can only welcome the real initiative, which, in my opinion, will allow us to raise a generation of young people who relate to nature with love. We wish you good luck!
