80 years are approaching since the day when five girls from Buryatia finished at the Moscow Dynamo stadium in March 1937, having completed an unprecedented - 6 thousand kilometers long and 95 unforgettable days — pedestrian skiing. Let us recall their names: Sofya Tykheeva, Maria Khakhalova, Elizaveta Konstantinova, Vera Lyubimskaya and Anastasia Sunkueva. A participant in the transition, Sofya Tykheeva, left a wonderful book of memories under the title “95 unforgettable days.” This is how the author in this book describes the exciting moment of the start: “… our commander reports to the Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars, Comrade Dorzhiev: ‘The team is ready to go!’ Dazhup Dansaranovich waved the starting flag, the orchestra thundered into a marching march. We set off.”

Today in this place on Revolution Square.

Ulan-Ude has a memorial plaque installed. This was in October 1936. A route map was placed above the Erdem cinema, and people could daily follow the progress of a flag indicating the location of the team. The victorious finish of the Buryat girls in Moscow in March 1937 served as a powerful impetus for the development of sports and tourism in Buryatia.

It’s nice that the public of the republic regularly celebrates this event on anniversaries. Here we are, tourism veterans V. A. Nevsky, Chairman of the Buryatia Tourism Federation (1977–1993), S.

N. Konstantinenko, member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, V. A. Lubsanova, head of the tourist club “Baikal — Khamar-Daban”, V.

A. Zharov, TV journalist, traveler, decided to support a good tradition and propose to organize a 2-3-day walking route in the vicinity of the city of Ulan-Ude to places where regular training of female skiers took place. In our opinion, we can propose the following route: from the city bus stop “Kulkison” — Babasanovskaya Pad — stream. Dryazgovity — stream.

Malaya Rechka — Sukhaya Pad Kulemina — Key of Youth — Center for Oriental Medicine. The proposed route passes through three notable peaks: Mt. Babasanovskaya (1,113 m), Mt.

Dryazgovitaya (1,249 m), Sukhaya (1,185 m above sea level). The authors of the mentioned project note several interesting places, the so-called “highlights”. For example, in the upper reaches of the Dryazgovity stream there is an interesting place that tourists call “Stone River”.

Moss and lichen cover the surface of the stones with either yellow or light gray spots. There is stone chaos all around you… Sometimes it seems that a powerful stone stream has stopped in its run… The picture that opens amazes and enchants with its unusual beauty.

Second example. At the end of the Babasanovskaya pad, turning left and climbing to the crest of the ridge, you will come out to a picturesque rock wall. You can stop here. We guarantee you great photos.

To brew tea over a fire, you need to bring water with you. Having climbed to the top of Sukhaya, you will find a steel benchmark lined with a large stone. The main thing to note is that there is still a significant halo of juniper around the summit.

We warn you — do not break! Descending from the top, we follow the old hunting path in a south-west direction down the ridge crest. After some time, the trail leads you to a pass, which among veteran tourists is called “Singing Pine”. Indeed, in the old days there was a noticeable double-topped pine tree here.

Under gusts of wind, forest melodies sounded in its elastic branches, so they dubbed it “singing.” We came to the Kulemin valley. Let’s sit down for a minute, we definitely need to thank the spirits — the owners of these places. Leaving an offering near the path, as is customary, we move on.

There are no more than 6.0 kilometers left until the completion of the route, the total length of which is about 40 kilometers. A little more and we will see the roof of the Center for Oriental Medicine on Verkhnyaya Berezovka. At the same time, do not be afraid of the difficulties of the route — the finish will undoubtedly bring a wonderful feeling of kindness, love and well-being. Naturally, in order to lead those who want to go on weekend hikes and multi-day hikes, we need experienced instructors — guides.

It remains to say that we are lucky here, since we have quite broad opportunities in training tourist personnel. This is the presence of educational departments on tourism at BSU, VSG AKI and the Baikal College of Service and Tourism.
