“His soul,” his friends say, “lives in the taiga.” This is evidenced by his books, such as “Taiga Tales”, “Talisman”, “Poetry of Nature” and others. At home, on his piano there are books by his favorite authors, these are Mikhail Lermontov and Marina Tsvetaeva. And in the winter hut, which for many years was located in the upper reaches of the mountain river Kurba, the traveler was greeted by a portrait of Mikhail Lermontov.
Apparently, something in the rebellious character of the poet was akin to Gennady Mikhailovich. He writes poetry himself. His heartfelt poems are dedicated to his faithful wife Anna Stepanovna, who, unfortunately, is no longer among us. There are poems dedicated to his son Alexander.
He is now the first assistant and support to his father. The language of Gennady Mikhailovich’s poems is original. He uses local, frequently used expressions, but, despite the apparent simplicity, the poems touch the soul. He spent half his life, and he is over 80, in the taiga.
He was a full-time hunter and game warden, and then changed his carbine to a photo gun. At the same time, he became convinced that this allowed him to see the world of animals and birds more fully. For many years his faithful Zenit served him. We look at numerous photographs of representatives of the animal world.
They were made as a result of long-term observation of their lives. We must pay tribute to the fact that Gennady Mikhailovich knew how to take a shot at exactly the right moment. We made sure that these moments were unique. He did not take photographs in order to later put them in a beautiful family album.
No, his main goal was, through exhibitions and seminars, to show people the natural world in which we live — the nature that surrounds us, which is very vulnerable and requires careful treatment. He does a lot of work among high school students, as if opening a window into nature for them. Today, on the eve of his birthday, we say: “Live long, Gennady Mikhailovich, for the benefit of people, we need you.” ALONE WITH NATURE We are sitting visiting a person whom we have long wanted to meet.
Gennady Mikhailovich Lepinskikh has been photographing for many years, writing books and poetry. And most importantly, he loves nature.
