Dead Poets
Dubai became a real journey of emigration for us, rather than a pretty postcard. At first it was difficult, unfamiliar and so hot that any trip became an ordeal. We rebuilt everyday life, looked for schools, homes, friends and our place in a city that never stops building. Four years later, the UAE has become home, though the journey continues — through neighbourhoods, work, cars, coffee, mistakes and new attempts.

The whole family except baby Daria

It’s just capturing the moment

We attended an absolutely wonderful musical production of “We are one” at Raffles World Academy, Sanya sang songs and drummed somewhere in the background

Me and my daughter Daria — perhaps this is the BRIX Cafe toilet

On December 2nd, my family and I took a trip to the desert to visit the Hidden Cafe in Dubai. This day was like a little adventure: the road to the cafe passed through endless sand dunes that seemed to shine under the rays of the winter sun

The first of January begins as it should: the tree is still glowing, the house is running on mandarins and quiet, and Sanya takes command of an enormous Star Wars ship. On mornings like this, a new year really can feel new.

I love Les Benjamins. For the design, for the energy, for the way Istanbul lives inside every stitch. It doesn’t feel like just clothing — it feels like a manifesto
