I've wanted to get into proper physical shape for a long time, but every attempt looked the same: suddenly start a new life, do everything perfectly for a few days, then eat something wonderful and declare the experiment a failure.

So now I have Project 80

The starting point is 97.5 kg. The goal is 80 kg. Not by next Monday and not through starvation, but gradually: walking, workouts, home cooking, sleep, and a normal sense of what is actually happening.

ChatGPT instead of a three-day diary

For Project 80 I created a separate project and a separate chat in ChatGPT. It gradually collects all the context about me:
  • weight and its dynamics;
  • height and health status;
  • old lab results and medical checkups;
  • sleep and how I feel;
  • walks and workouts;
  • water intake;
  • everything I eat during the day.

I simply photograph food before I start eating and send it to the chat. ChatGPT roughly estimates the composition and portion size, notes whether there is enough protein and vegetables, and helps adjust the next meal.

Ate three slices of banana cake

Sometimes I forget to photograph. Then I have to write honestly:

I ate three slices of banana cake and washed them down with two glasses of milk.

That is part of the project too.

Not a diet, but self-observation

The main idea is not to try to be perfect. One cake, ice cream, or a big plate of pasta does not destroy the whole result. The problem starts when, after that, a person either keeps eating everything in sight or decides to punish themselves with starvation.

So we record facts without hysteria: what I ate, how far I walked, how I slept, and what can be done next.

Already we have regular morning walks with Irina, home breakfasts, a workout plan, and clear intermediate goals:

95 → 90 → 85 → 80 kg

We'll see where all of this leads. But for the first time I'm not just thinking that I need to lose weight. I've started building a system that reminds me every day exactly where I'm going 🔥
